This was NOT a good Mother’s Day.
It started off OK as we gave Mom breakfast in bed and then off to Toronto to a Blue Jays game and brunch.
Unfortunately, we were stuck on highway 401 for 2 hours. It turns out a truck had caught fire and traffic was backed up for kms.
We pressed on if only to see what the VIP dining area looked like and after all, it was Mother’s day.
We arrived at the game just in time for the top of the eighth inning and we gobbled down brunch for $200.00! The game only took about two hours to complete so we had that working against us as well.
We wandered around downtown for a half hour or so and then headed back home. East bound highway 401 was still backed up for about 20km and at the tail end there was a horrific accident that looked quite serious. The traffic ground to a crawl as we passed the accident and Rebecca took a quick picture. Even though there are no injuries in the photo, I’m not sure I want to post it.
Whew! I’m glad we made it home in one piece.
