Fall Colors in S/W Colorado 2005

What is not to love about the San Juans. Oh but it hurts my eyes. I'll just have to live with it. Okay it is my version of eye candy. Relaxation please enjoy.

Thanks for your beautiful selection of photos! Just the way I remember S/W Colorado from over 50 years ago. I live in Boston now. I was lucky enough to spend the summers with my Great Aunt and Uncle at their farm on Bear Creek across the creek from Stoner. My great grand-parents lived in Rico. My grandmother went to High School in Telluride. We used to have the Lofquist/Robinson reunions for a few days at Bear Creek. We may have another soon. I still have cousins in Durango and Cortez.

Your photos are wonderful. They bring back many great memories and make me want to come back, now with my new digital camera! You are so right, what is not to love about the San Juan's. I have done two bicycle tours that started/ended in Durango and basically followed the million dollar highway. And, I'll probably do the very same tour again! I carried my camera on my bike and took lots of photos, but they are all on film and I haven't scanned them. You have inspired me to dig them out and do that. I have added you to my 'favorites' list and will return often.

I agree with you. Living in Colorado is painful but some pain is worth living with :-)
To me, the hardest part of Colorado is having to drive west on 52 toward Boulder and having the mountains taunt me at the windshield.
