Manila

Manila is a vibrant mix of new and old, rich and poor. I consider the sprawling Filipino capital "Asia Light" due to the widespread use of English started during the American colonial period and Catholicism, the most lasting legacy of 4 centuries of Spanish domination.

hi Brian!!! very nice pics!!im not filipino citizen ,im from uruguay a litle country in southamerica,but since i know filipina people there,his culture,the friendly like they are, i fall in love of PHILIPINNES,i went there in the past months of may and june,i visit manila,baguio and boracay,i see the poor&rich ,the beach,the province and crowed streets..i feel the hot there i miss filipinas right now!!also i learn some tagalog words....i hope comeback someday .a country its made for his peopple ..

Suggest if you could take some shots of Baguio City, Boracay, Vigan, Chocolate Hills in Bohol, Palawan, Cebu, Davao, Zamboanga, Mayon Volcano in Albay, Banaue Rice Terraces, Kalaw Cave, Hundred Islands in Pangasinan. I was born in raised in the Philippines, but didn't got the chance to see the beauty that my country has to offer, and just looking at these pictures made me realized that my country has so much to offer. Thank you for showing off Manila, the Chinatown, Intramuros, etc. It takes me back the 30 years of my young life as a student at Lyceum and part of the fun I've had was roaming around Intramuros and Luneta (when me and my friends would skip classes.) may i have your permission to use some of your pictures? my father wrote some stories about what life was like (he was born 1936) and I am layouting his stories and would like to include some pictures of manila, the intramuros shots, st. augustine shots are so nice and speaks of the past so well. This wont be an actual publication, just a compilation of stories in a scrapbook type to be shared by the family.

hi brian, you did an excellent job in capturingthe the old, snubbish and enigmatic beauty of manila. philippines indeed is a beautiful country. do come back and visit our breath taking beaches in batangas, mindoro, sorsogon, cebu, bohol, and palawan. do you dive? boy, we have gorgeous dive spots here in anilao, puerto galera, balikasag, cagayan cilio a lot actually. it would be nice if you stayed in the province for some cultural experience.

My husband as been in the Philippines on business for the last 10 months off and on. It now looks like we will be moving there for at least a couple of years. Your website excites me! I am looking forward to exploring the country. I have traveled a great deal in Asia, just haven't hit the Philippines yet. My husband has fallen in love with it though. Scuba diving, golf, and just the beauty of the country. He especially enjoys the people. Should be quite the contrast to Oregon USA.

Hi! I would like to ask for your permission to use some of your pictures for a powerpoint I'm making. I belong to an organization called CISV, which has programs that introduce children to the concept of world peace. Delegations from around the world join each other in various camps happening simultaneously in over 20 countries every year.
