M 14

M 14 is globular cluster 30,000 light years away from earth,
twice as far as its Messier neighbors in Ophiuchus (M 10, M 12).
It is approximately 55 light years in diameter. M14 is one
of two globular clusters in which a nova is known to
have occurred (in 1938; the other such cluster is M80).
