This is about as rare a piece of art glass as they come - a geode collaboration between the great Andrew Brown (CarverB) and Troy Bennett, who now owns and operates the Whoopzip glass clothing line. It's a shame Troy doesn't make as much glass art as he used to, because he is one of the best and produced some amazing glass back in the day. I know, I'm calling 2005 'back in the day', but hey, the glass scene moves fast! They only made a very small series of these, maybe 6 of so of them, and this one is spectacular. This was #2 from the series, and is signed "Brown & Bennett #2 '05".

For these, Troy would make the insides, and then Andrew would create the geode effect and do the cold work carving and faceting of it. This one features an awesome stack of 3 opals down in there, with some crazy sweet colored waves of glass surrounding it. Beautiful, gorgeous glass! The best way to display this one would be to set it on a light stand. If you notice the bottom of it, there is a transparent area exposed by the cut so that light can travel up through the piece when lit from underneath. This lights up the inside of this one SO incredibly, you gotta see it! Tough piece to sell, a very special marker in the history of glass, going to a new lucky owner!
