Tom Griffin is the man, the myth and the legend behind Griffin Precision Spinning Tops. Tom creates some of the finest, most perfectly balanced spinning metal tops the world has ever seen. Tom is considered a lathe craftsman, however he now also uses a CNC machine to mill out the basic shape of his tops, and then he finishes them on the lathe, and will sometimes add other milled elements to his higher end work as well. So, in reality he makes hybrid tops combining the two methods of top making, a rare thing at the moment in the top world. Tom is widely viewed as one of the top few greatest top makers in the world and some of his tops have sold for thousands of dollars. His work is incredibly popular and hard to come by, with demand far outweighing the supply from this one man wonder world of tops. He usually 'signs' his tops with Griffin lasered into the body of the top, along with the weight and occasionally some other details. His tops are at the pinnacle of the collecting world, and while I won't have many of his amazing pieces to offer here, I'll probably occasionally have something to offer.
