This beautiful Red Tail Hawk is one of several "Educational" birds at the
Wildlife Center. These birds are used in educational venues because they
can't be released into the wild for various reasons, therefore the staff
use these birds in different lectures and presentations and for public visits.
While this isn't a "wild" bird shot, these birds are being presented to bring their
plight into the public awareness. The Wildlife Center is a Non-profit organization
established to rehabilitate wild animals in the northern NM area. My previous shot
is of one of their many success stories.
The Wildlife Center
For all you wildlife photographers I would highly recommend traveling to and/or
supporting a rehab center, the photo opportunities can be exceptional, and most
facilities are eager for any support and/or good press they can get.
