Another severe crop. Only woodpecker I was able to get close to and he was probably 40 feet up into a setting sun. The forest service literature says the Red Cockaded Woodpecker is known to inhabit the Sam Houston National Forest, so that was what I was really hoping to luck upon. Maybe next time.
