Akira Kurosawa's seminal 1954 film about a poor village under attack by bandits recruiting seven unemployed samurai to help them defend themselves. Seven Samurai famously influenced the Yul Brynor epic "The Magnificent Seven" six years later
This was taken in Snowshill Manor, a fascinating place full of the 22,000 artefacts collected over the years by Charles Paget Wade. Thankfully, the National Trust has recently relaxed its strict rules on not allowing indoor photography and now permit non-flash shooting
I should add that the room in which these samurai stood was in almost complete darkness with the only light coming from half-a-dozen candle-lights like the one in the foreground and a heavily obscured window at the left of the picture...glad to see that a high ISO and a smidge of Levels has brought out the shadows nicely :o))
