Thank you too for the clarification. I identified them as Trumpeters in the field, posted them on the MN and WI listservs as Trumpeter Swans, but mis-labeled them here. I appreciate your feedback :)
Really enjoyed going thru your galleries. I've been up to bird around Duluth a couple of times during owl years, some of the best trips I've ever done.
These three swans look like Trumpeters, with the flat plane of the bill/forehead, eye blending into facial skin and lack of a curve at the gape.
