low pressure sodium

Years ago my next door neighbor installed 2 low pressure sodium telephone pole lights in her yard. I hate these lights and the awful yellow orange light they cast all night long into my yard. They always interfere with whatever I am trying to shoot outside my house at night. This is one time I made them work for me. I painted the foreground with my flashlight during a 20 second exposure after our first snow of the year this weekend.

Sorry for very slow replies to pBase visitors lately. Work is bearing down so I have had little time for photography and pBase. Bill

At first glance I thought this was a Photoshop job. What are those people thinking! You made great use of the situation and got a fantastic shot.

Excellent! Making the best of a bad lot...I like the combination of the warm sodium glare and the cold white of the flash, works really well here, Bill...cracking shadows, too!!

I like the effect the light has given to this shot, but I can image what a pain it must be. V.
