Paradise is at the top of the Pacific Flyway and all along the valley are excellent places to shoot migratory and local birds. Some of the shots that follow are from Oroville in the Forebay, some from Gray Lodge.
Most of the shots are taken with one of the two Canon 100-400/4.5-5.6L IS lenses that I've owned. Really the best zoom bird lens out there. Sold it once - won't make that mistake twice!
As it turns out, yes I will! I sold for the Nikon system and a 70-300VR. Not anywhere near the lens the 100-400 is, for sure. It is a decent lens, tho. Fast AF and pretty amazing IQ for a consumer grade lens. A couple shots of jays and squirrels here show that.
