Bernard, I enjoyed your gallery of Yunnan very much, some excellent landscapes and other scenes, but the photos which really stood out for me were the portraits. You caught the character of the people and what tremendous outfits they have with brilliant colours which you captured perfectly. Stephen (from London)

Dear Mentor,

It has now been about 3 months since I purchased a small, affordable Nikon S5 coolpix camera for my daily travel snaps. In addition I took your much valuable advice and purchased (for my father) a Lumix FZ7 with its Leica Lens. I recall your suggestion to one day afford a Nikon D200, but for now, I am having a wonderfull time being able to capture moments at will and hopefully some day being able to share my experiences with a circle of valued freinds like yours. Bernard, whilst we have met only breifly, you have left for me a huge inspiration and an insight into what is now amongst my favourite passtime hobbies. Regards and Best Wishes to your entire family for the coming festive season of Christmas 2006 from Perth ,Your apprentice , Dr Shahid Jamil and Bridget Povey.

Hi Bernard!

love ur photos of jiuzhaigou... I'll be heading there in early dec too... just wondering if you can share a few tips with me?
what's the temperature like? do u hike around the whole park by yourself or with a guide? or are you on tour bus or something? heard you have to take a bus from the JZG airport into the JZG park... do they drive the bus innto the park in winter? coz i heard people say it's too dangerous so most of them don't.

i've been hearing alot of different things from people, so would love to hear from you since you have been there ard the time i want to go there. Really hope you can helpp me out with these questions. Thank you!

cheers
Ling

Hey Bernard, did you know that rod oztoski cannot take a critic's comment on his space shuttle exhibit, He deleted my comments on july 11,2006. Some people cannot stand criticism. He just wanted accolade and praise. But, we are all different in our observation.

It is really enjoyable to scan the Qing Dao photos. I could not take my eyes off from a couple of them, which helped bring back nice memories to me. The high quality photos have reflected authentic natural landscapes on the coastline of Qing Dao. Keep the good work. Congratulations. David

hELLO Bernard my name is Marcus. I just went through the superb pictures in your gallery, and Im just wonderign whether you can give your copy right and post it on www.wikipedia.org in the entry abotu Hong Kong. I come from Hong Kong too and I went to the Wikipedia entries about Shanghai and Singapore, and they had lots of good photos of their skyline. Onl the page about Hong Kong doesnt. It is kinda sad, so it would be great if you post it there. Everyone can post things, as long as its not copyrighted. I hope you will do it and let people see hwo great our skyline is!

Your pictures are beautiful. Thanks for sharing them with us.

I was in Jiu Zhai Gou on October 14, 2004. We had snowfall in Chuan Zhu Shi mountain area. High elevation might affect some people, I was sick when I entered the area above 3200 metres. When I got to Jiu Zhai Gou I was fine. The scenic in Jiu Zhai Gou is too beautiful to describe. Late autumn is excellent to be there, but dress warm. If you like to take more pictures, one day in the park is very rush, try to visit the park in two days.

Victor Chan 30-Oct-2004 04:47
Bernard,

You have some wonderful night shoots of Hong Konng, I particularly like the "Survived from the rainstorm" one. And I wonder if you can share which building was the photo shot from? and did it require special access to get up there?

I lived in California now and next time when I go back to Hong Kong, I would like to take some photos from the same vantage point. So your tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

- Victor Chan
