This photo was probably taken by his friend TSgt. Ray Wedige, who also took another one of Finholt near the plane. His caption indicated "Messerschmitt 109 shot down by Ray Finholt"... Whatever the caption indicates we think that Flenory Griggs downed the plane, but we know that there were many men firing at Herbert Maxis when he attacked the ground units. So its quite normal that more than one person claims the shootdown.
