Just this morning (Friday, April 19, 2013), I received the wonderful news of one of my eARThen self-portraits being juried into the New York-based Professional Women Photographers Spring 2013 International Call for Entry as an Honorable Mention winner (out of over 1300 submissions). Thrilled, to say the least, as this series is very important to me as an ongoing study of how we (as women, as a community, as human beings) relate to the facade of commercially-marketed beauty trends and how we often spend a lifetime hiding our true beauty.
