Love the mounted SkyFi! I have a Taiko, and was thinking about howe to take XM along for the ride - I never even considered mounting my SkyFi, however! I've been planning on a MyFi, especially now that the price is dropping.

In any case, fantastic work! You should post some pix on XMfan.com.

Thanks for the kind words. The Burley Spider is a sweet ride:-) As for power, I am using the battery that powers the headlights. I have never run out of power....during the day without the lights on, I would imagine I could power the skyfi for 30 hours or more. I can go out at night, run the lights on the lower setting (2 hour claimed run time) and go for a 1 1/5 hour ride with the XM radio on the whole time with no problem. As for the weight, yes it is heavy. 12 volt Gel cells are!!! But I am not one of those weight weenies:-) so the way I look at it, it is more exercise! I also have the Myfi and it is awesome! You will love it! I will be working on a mount for it on the bike as well in the spring. I don't ride during the winter months much.

I love your tricked-out bent. I have a EZ Racer TourEasy recumbent that is 15 years old, and I am looking to replace it with the new Burley Spider. I also mounted my SkyFi receiver; however, the AA battery pack I used only had enough juice for about an hour. I thought about using larger batteries but I was concerned about the extra weight and bulk. I'm just curious as to what you are using for a power source? I just ordered the Delphi MyFi to replace the SkyFi. The new MyFi smaller and much more portable. I'm looking forward to taking it on bike rides.
