Developers are tearing down the St James Centre to build a new shopping complex.
The centre was designed in 1964, and now considered not suitable for the modern age.
This is a bit worrying because 1964 is also the same year I was 'designed'. Time for me to be replaced as well :(
But all around are the Georgian buildings of the "New Town" that date from before and around 1800.
Those older buildings are treasured and protected, and now form part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. Also like me: heritage!
