Snow

Dalwhinnie

This is a quick picture through the train window on my way up to Thurso. I am in my hotel now.
The journey took 3 trains and 11 hours to travel about 300 miles. That is about the same time it takes me to fly to Tokyo.
Travel is slow in the north of Scotland!

Dude, if YOU were a train in the north of Scotland, how fast would YOU want to go EVEN FURTHER NORTH into the cold and the windswept barrenness, hmmm? Of COURSE it's going to take a while. The engineers probably have to use electric cattle prods on the locos just to make them move!
Pretty scenery, though, in a frozen, barren, desolate, best-seen-from-inside-a-rail-coach way.

That was an ordeal and the snow that precipitated it seems light

So a lovely landscape- I long to go back. I don't mind the slower pace, it provides peace of mind as does the view! ~V~
