The Trees are Alive

I love to walk along this woodland path. These trees always seem so dynamic and alive.
This evening, the low sun accentuated their shapes and textures.
The recent wet weather has made the path very muddy, but the dogs enjoyed the walk all the same.

Even before reading the commentary I thought that the light and direction spoke of another closing day. The warm light of the afternoon is always a good compliment to denuded trees; it goes very well with the bare wood.
