The rouge vif d'etampes pumpkin was reportedly the model for Cinderella's carriage. Looks pretty close. This French heritage pumpkin is renowned for its flavor. I got the seeds for this pumpkin from one I selected as a Halloween pumpkin last year and planted this year. At one point the vines were growing almost a foot a day, but squash bugs got into them when we left for a couple of weeks and the vines were almost all dead by the time we returned, thus the early harvest. Beautiful pumpkins nevertheless. The bloodshot pumpkin was also from seeds obtained from another Halloween pumpkin last year.
