In 2010 we enjoyed a home exchange in Perth with an added three days in the exchangees' holiday house in Dunsborough, on the coast in the south-west.
We met our exchangees at Perth Airport where we exchanged car keys and directions to our car when they reached Melbourne Airport. Our house in Perth was a beautiful double storey house in Daglish, near Subiaco and an easy train ride to the city or south to Fremantle.
Our three days in the south-west were spent exploring the Margaret River area and the beaches around Geographe Bay, walking at both Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin. Two lighthouses, superb displays of wildflowers, white sands and turquoise waters, vineyards and wineries and some examples of tall karri forests.
In 2022 we again flew to Perth and spent 3 days re-exploring the city before departing on the Indian Pacific (Journey Beyond) luxury train travelling across the Nullabor Plain into South Australia and departing in Adelaide.
