A view of the Tasiilaq town centre from near our guesthouse. The two large red buildings just to the left of the centre of this photograph are the post office and the supermarket. There is another supermarket on the other side of the town. When we were in Tasiilaq, as there had been no supply ships for nine months, the shelves of the two supermarkets were mostly bare, and there were no fresh fruits or vegetables. There was nothing to drink except tap water (or instant coffee and tea of course) but both supermarkets still had plenty of ice creams in stock (maybe they are not big sellers in the winter!)
