Air Greenland operates a shuttle service between Kulusuk and Tasiilaq using a very noisy Bell 212 helicopter. The ground staff insisted on packing my camera bag into the tail of the chopper because it was very cramped inside, so I only had my pocket Sony Cybershot to use. The helicopter shuddered and shook so much that all my aerial shots with the Cybershot on the 10 minute flight from Kulusuk came out blurred. (For the flight back I smuggled my D100 under my coat with a compact but fast 50mm lens. That enabled me to overcome the vibration problem and there is a shot from that flight about two-thirds of the way through this gallery titled ‘Angmagssalik 01’).
