On the way back to where I was staying between Bikenibeu and Bairiki, I spotted these kids gathering palm fronds by the side of the road. One thing that I noticed during my three days in Kiribati, was that even though the adults left their children to fend for themselves during the day, many of the kids were busy with tasks like this, and many of the young girls had a baby brother on their arm.
