I'm guessing there are about 50 horses living in this canyon. The canyon extends several more miles behind me. There is water in the bottom although I'm not sure if it lasts through the hot summer. The horses feed on the slopes and ridges and travel to the bottom for water. These horses have to be sound to survive.
