Nearly seven million people are crammed into the mere 1,100 square kilometers that make up the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR). Not just a city of skyscrapers, there is also lush countryside and small rural communities.
Part of the images here are from 1992-96 when this was my home and travel hub for my many SE Asian adventures. The rest are from a return visit in 2008 as part of an extended visit that included the Chinese mainland as well.
A most interesting factoid: According to both UN and WHO estimates, Hong Kong has the longest life expectancy of any country in the world.
