In and around Palm Springs / Coachella Valley CA.

Recently added: Only a fifteen minute drive from Palm Springs, the Whitewater Canyon Wildlife Preserve offers magnificent vistas, numerous hikes (of various lengths and difficulties), and awesome geological strata. In the winter there is fresh snow on the local mountains, which provided even more amazing views. If you hike the 3.5 mile Canyon Loop Trail, you'll cross a flowing river, climb 500 ft (altitude) up a cliff side, and wander through a vast field of sagebrush and various grasses. A delightful way to spend a day in the California desert. One more fun place to visit and photograph near Palm Springs.
