<< Merrimack at Mars Hill NCAA D II Mens Lax >>
Played under bright blue skies near mid-day, there were deep shadows on faces all game. Merrimack and Mars Hill played close for most of the first half, but Merrimack scored 3 goals in the final 90 seconds of the half and never looked back.
Final score 14-8 for MHC's second loss of the season.
All taken with my trusty Canon 1D (mk I) with 70-200/2.8 zoom and a 1.4x teleconverter, ISO 200 at f5.6. Hope you like them! Vote for your favorites, leave a comment & sign the guestbook while you're here.

<< Limestone at MHC D2 mens lax >>
Here are all of my "keeper" images from the Limestone game that were played at Mars Hill College on Sat 3/14. I hope you enjoy them. This was a great game, won by Limestone 12-11 despite a furious final minute of MHC Lions pressure.
Played under cloudy skies and showers, the light was great for lax shooting, although shutter speeds were a little slow. All were shot with my Canon 1D mark I, with a 70-200/2.8 zoom on a 1.4x teleconverter, most at ISO 400 or 640.

<< Pembroke at Hollis-Brookline NH HS Hockey 3.7.09 >>
Pembroke was down to only 10 skaters, and held on through two periods, but HB pulled away to a 5-2 playoff win and advances to the next round. Congrats to the Cavaliers and good luck the rest of the way. It was a great season for the PA Spartans who all showed a lot of heart.
All shot from atop a ladder above the 10' glass with my Canon 1D and 70-200/2.8 zoom at ISO 1250.
<< PA boys hoops Senior Night 2.28.09 >>
Pembroke Academy's final regular season home game was Senior Night. It was also a homecoming of sorts as the Spartans had their first home game after replacing the gym floor due to water damage. Following an easy win over Laconia, its now on to the playoffs.
Hope you like them....

<< Souhegan at Pembroke 2.14.09 NH HS hockey >>
PA jumped out to a 5-0 lead after 2 periods, but barely hung on win 5-4 after a furious Souhegan come back, including a 5-on-3 powerplay in the final 2 minutes.

<< PA Boys hoops vs Bedford 2.14.09 >>
Another easy win the Spartans, played at NHTI. Most shot with the Canon 1D (Mark I) 85/1.8 with flash at ISO 1250.

<< PA vs Stark NH HS Hockey >>
I only got there for the 3rd period, but like the shots I got - better light at the Tri-Town Arena than I remembered. Easy win for PA at home.
<< Salem at BG 1.31.09 NH HS Hockey >>
A solid 5-2 win for the Cardinals at home in Skate III. BG's special teams (power play and especially penalty kill) made the difference.
Hope you like 'em.

<< The San Diego Zoo >>
I was able to travel to San Diego, CA with my wife while she attended the National Athletic Director's conference, and made a photo safari to the San Diego Zoo. It is massive and has hundreds of species. Got there at the 9 AM opening and spent the whole day. It is very hilly, but fairly compact and located 10 minutes from the Convention Center. Got there Saturday, hit the Zoo on Sunday, and on Monday it was horrid weather - unheard of for San Diego - 45 degrees, 40 mph winds and torrential rain. Lovely city - clean and lots to do.
