Less romantically, it means the lake of the pregnant maiden. Legend has it that a lady who had been trying to conceive for 19 years drank water from this lake and then was blessed with a baby.

This is an fantastic, somewhat eerie freshwater lake, accessed by a 100m walk from the beach on Pulau Dayang Bunting. Great for swimming! Amazingly, the sea is immediately beyond the hills in the distance.
