Known as "The White Dove of the Desert", this mission was completed in 1797. It is located 12 miles south of Tucson, Arizona USA. It is a functioning Catholic Church and one of the best examples of Mexican American missions in the Southwest. It is currently undergoing renovation. The exterior plaster is being redone in the ancient tradition of the Tohono O’odham Indians who originally helped constructed it and whom the church still serves today.
