Wine maker...Swanson, West Auckland.

I was just passing by this area the other day and this building caught my eye..

M.B. Yozin immigrated to New Zealand in 1926 at the age of 16. He was one of the first wine-makers in New Zealand.
He built this art deco-style building himself in 1948.
His daughter Rosalie now runs an organic orchard and vineyard here..

I would think the family would have imigrated from Yugoslavia...many from there imigrated to New Zealand to this area..

Nice building. I love the feel to it...kinda reminds me of a Spanish style. Very cool. Is the vineyard around back?

sounds like a North Croatian name, close to the Italian border New Zealand produces some great wines!

Like the sky and a great job of hanging on to the stucco detail, though I'll bet there is still a little room at the right end of the histogram.

We often used to drive out to Swanson each Easter and stop here to buy grapes. The old building has lasted well
