St. John's Anglican Church - Lunenburg

Despite alterations, the church has acquired a unique, highly ornamented "carpenter gothic" character that is in perfect harmony with both its site and with the wooden houses that surround it, these houses themselves having been altered and ornamented in much the same way.

Hi,

I work for St. John's restoration and I would just like to note that you have the above image title wrong - the image is not of St. John's but rather another church in Lunenburg.

Thanks,
Denise

Sadly this church burnt down on October 31, 2001. It was set on fire by some vandals - no one has been charged yet!! It is now in the process of being rebuilt. It should be finished in 2004. Check out the website athttp://www.rootsweb.com/~nslssgs/stjohn.htm
