The soft bedrock here is being slowly washed away, thus the petroglyph images will some day be no longer visible. We take our shoes off here and are allowed to walk barefoot on the rocks to view the tiny drawings, some no bigger than the tip of your finger. Vandals have scrawled graffiti on the rocks, but the original petroglyphs still remain. Rangers now patrol the area to protect these fragile drawings.
