some of my spicebush swallowtails are likely black swallowtails
having seen the caterpillars at this same location makes me more confident with this one's identification, returning to its old chomping ground
Papilio polyxenes is a skittish butterfly & I was set up for birds with my 500 & a too large extension tube when this one came by
this was shot through a window, using a tripod as a monopod
surprised it came out as well as it did
next chance I will up the ISO to allow for more DOF & shutter speed
