the barrel distortion in this images was done in post processing - a kind of tweak that I rarely apply to photos, as I try to keep them as natural as possible.
I really would have liked to shoot this with a DSLR and a fisheye lens, so I think the barrel distortion is appropriate here.

Yes, very appropriate use of distortion. I'd definitely be fooled unless you'd written it was distorted in postprocessing. Light, perspective, grain, distortion, shades, proportions, so many things are right in this image. (Perhaps I'd chose to crop away the roof between the chimney and the building but that is probably a matter of taste).
