I certainly didn't start this gallery for the quality of the images, which are average at best. And my phone is not that bad either, it's a Samsung D600, 2-megapixel, you can even select WB and iso which is a neat trick for a phone. Alas the lens isn't going to give top notch results, I've read that the Sony Ericsson's fare better in the IQ department.
So why did I bother then? Well, everyone has a camera phone these days, right? And like everyone else I take daft snapshots of my kids and friends, I guess that's why they were invented.
So I thought I'd try and upload a few shots that I actually put some thought into, hopefully the choice of lighting and composition will negate some of the obvious technical limitations of the device.
No post processing was done apart from reducing the files for the Web, the phone's built in editing functions were used for the various effects.
It's not that pretty but it is challenging trying to wring the best results from such a basic camera, that was my goal really to just push myself in a new direction and see where the journey took me.
EDIT May 2008;
Now shooting with Sony Ericsson K800i
EDIT April 2013;
Now shooting with Samsung Galaxy S3
Nice to see someone else uses a camera phone properly.I took a reflection shot recently,to the surprise of my "model",who exclaimed she'd never thought of using a camera on a phone,in such a fasshion.
