Clusters and nebulae in the LMC bar - close-up

Loftus, NSW

In this closer view, the large S-shaped nebula below centre is NGC1910, and is sprinkled with young star clusters and massive blue stars. Directly above it is the yellowish rich (globular?) cluster NGC1916. Bluish open cluster NGC1903 lies to the upper left of the nebula. At the left an dupper left of the inset are NGC1894 and NGC1898 respectively. A few wisps of gas from NGC1918 are at the top of the frame.

Focus was imperfect for much of the night, and has affected the sharpness of this image. I took 72 frames (6 hours), and kept only 17!
