NGC1365 is a spectacular barred spiral galaxy, 56 million light-years away in Fornax. It's huge, maybe as much as twice as wide as the Milky Way, and in it's core is a weird object... the supermassive black hole is spinning at 85% the speed of light.
An experimental image, taking two hours of images from my new scope on 13th Jan 2016, and adding in two hours with the old scope in mid-November 2014, both in pretty hazy suburban conditions. The result's slightly better than either separately - the new scope is sharper but the image was a little noisy. Image combination was a simple merge in Photoshop of un-sharpened stacks from each scope.
