Grainy meathook

Loftus, NSW

The Meathook Galaxy, NGC2442 is about 50 million light-years away, and has been disrupted a bit by a companion galaxy. Clouds limited the number of exposures on a hot night, so it's pretty grainy.

7 x 5-minutes, 150mm Newtonian, stacked in PixInsight, additional processing in Photoshop. Darks, flats and bias subtracted. full exif
