Our guide said that the Siq was filled with sand (and sometimes water) and
when the sand was being lifted from this area, they realized belatedly,
in some cases, that they were digging up and tossing out sections with sculptures.
Note the bottom half of a sculpture that is coming out of the rock.
It was spotted and saved. (Center, front portion of the photo.)
