Jaguar Cub

Thanks to our local camera store and photo group sponsor, George's Camera, I was able to try out the new AF-S NIKKOR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR lens today.
I must say the focus is very fast compared to the old version which I own. It also seems to be sharper, and I like the ergonomics.
I do not like the $2,700 price tag. The old version of this lens is now available for $1,500. I'm not sure the new one is worth the extra $1,200.
Still, always fun trying out new gear.

Exceptional shot! Actually exceptional for most people, but in your case something you do all the time. I am glad to know they finally came out with an updated 80-400. I have been waiting for that, although I am not sure I can afford one right now. ~BV~

Excellent detail and light and such an intent expression. Looks like the lens is quite good, but wow, that's expensive. Personally I think you get great results with the old one as well. V.
