The First Flowers
In an attempt to conserve water we planted these succulents in our back yard last fall.
Yesterday they began to flower and this afternoon several had beautiful blooms.
They are Echeveria glauca and are named after the 18th century Spanish botanist Atanasio Echeverria Codoy.
Native to Mexico, they are hearty plants that require little care, lots of light, and only limited amounts of water.
