Mussolini's grand dream of building a new Rome, constructed on the southern outskirts of the eternal city. Reachable by the A line of the Rome metro, via the EUR-Magliana station, many federal Italian government agencies now inhabit the contemporary edifices of this district, although the building known as the "Square Colosseum" appears abandoned and unfinished. The park that one must walk through to reach the EUR is strewn with used condoms and east European prostitutes, a very seedy gauntlet for anyone curious enough to seek out the EUR.
