The island's most important pilgrimage church, built in 1818 to replace the chapel destroyed by an earthquake in 1748. On the altar ia a very tiny statue of the Virgin Mary. It was found nearby in the 15th century by a shepherdess and is paraded around the village on the Feast of the Assumption in August.
Inside also is the tomb of the last Emperor of Austria & King of Hungary, Charles I. See further images for more information about him.
