McGhee was then manager of Brighton & Hove Albion, for 3 years. He is a former Scotland international striker who played for Newcastle, Hamburg & Celtic. Has managed several clubs since early retirement through injury. Now managing Motherwell FC who are currently 4th in the Scottish Premier League, and is a favourite for the vacant Scotland manager's job.
