This little memorial was unveiled on September 11th 2010, and stands in a corner just beside an arch of Charles Bridge as you enter Kampa Square. It is a touching tribute from the Voluntary Firefighters Unit of Prague. The inscriptiuon is in Czech and English and reads as follows:
A firefighter is a person who lives two lives, one for themselves, and one for others.
Therefore the life of a firefighter holds a true understanding of all that is human.
Dedicated to the memory of the 343 New York firefighters who lost their lives
on the 11th September 2001.
We shall never forget.
