These are photographs of the moldy lichen covered walls and rocks inside an ancient church in Bitez ,Turkey. I photographed this last year but forgot where I down-loaded the images to and returned again this year and made new ones. I have accentuated the tonality here by extending the images saturation. I found the resulting photographs to be like Paintings done in Abstract Expressionism manner. I have started with a photograph of the church I did two years ago and followed up with one I did this year. I found this Church by walking the dry stream beds north from the coast. To my surprise and delight there are some rare Byzantine dolphin mosaics on the floor. If i had not been just out there wandering I would never have found this place because it is not in any tourist book or map.
