Made of timber with some steel reinforcing, this 1909 Sizaire et Naudin Roadster puts the complex cars of today in perspective. With only one cylinder this 1600cc marvel was capable of 70kph. I watched the owner crank start this car in front of me with only a couple of turns and then drive away. These vehicles were regular winners in early "voiturette" (small car) racing of the era.

At the time I photographed this car there were only about 30 of these cars left world wide.
