In the course of conducting a hazard reduction burn in the Mittagong area, an ember became lodged in a high branch above the track causing the tree to burn. The Mittagong Rural Fire Service crew directed a strong jet of water from a Cat 1 tanker while illuminating the scene with the rear spot lights.
