The Epiphyllum oxypetalum; night-blooming cereus

My mother is a plant lover and she got all sorts of plant at home. And this one is the most interesting, its flower only blooms at the night time and the flower will die within few hours after its blossoms.

This GIF image was made of 94 frames of still images. The first photo was taken at 9/1/2006 2008hrs and the last one was taken at 10/1/2006 0546hrs at the interval of 5 minutes. And this GIF is showing us that the short lifespan of the flower.

The whole process was quite automatic, thanks to the great functions of the D2X (interval shooting), save me from waking up all night long to take these images. :P
